Crypto Scammers Bribe X Employees to Reinstate Suspended Accounts
X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, has uncovered a bribery network targeting its employees to reinstate accounts linked to crypto scams. The company announced legal action against the perpetrators, who allegedly paid middlemen to influence X staff.
The scammers exploited suspended accounts involved in cryptocurrency fraud and platform manipulation. Their operations extended beyond X, leveraging platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Minecraft, and Roblox to deceive users. Connections to known criminal organizations, including "The Com," were identified.
X's Global Government Affairs team confirmed the platform's aggressive stance, emphasizing zero tolerance for such schemes. The investigation revealed coordinated efforts to undermine platform integrity, with bribes serving as a tool for account reinstatement.
